This model represents the Singapore Airlines 707-320C registration 9V-BEY, construction number 19353, in the airline’s original livery. This aircraft was purchased by Singapore Airlines on October 1, 1972, from Continental, where she was originally delivered as N47330 on May 27, 1967. After serving 9 years with Singapore Airlines, the aircraft was then sold to International Air Leases as N707SH on November 23, 1981. By this time Singapore Airlines was making place for the new Boeing 747-200, which superseded the Boeing 707. After many years of service with many airlines, 19353 came to rest in January 1998 at Lagos Airport in Nigeria where she was broken up for spares.
The InFilght 200 production of this model was 372 pieces worldwide, released in May 2006.
The Boeing 707 was the first in the long line of Boeing commercial jet airliners. Its wingspan was 130 feet 10 inches, and it had more than 100 windows. Later versions could fly up to 189 passengers 6,000 miles at 600 mph. The Air Force bought three 707-120s and converted them into VIP transports. When the president was aboard, it was called “Air Force One.” Later, two 707-320s were specifically configured as Air Force One presidential airplanes. A total of 855 707s were delivered between 1957 and 1992.
